Servite College leads 24:7 SERVE, a collective providing faith development services to schools and parishes.
24:7 SERVE has launched a renewed leadership formation program and there are many new opportunities for our students in 2021.
Working in partnership with Caritas Australia and their reconfigured Justice Education model, the College has developed a new Social Justice Leadership program that was a huge success for both our students and the Year 6 students at Mary MacKillop Catholic Primary School, Ballajura.
Joining our Youth Minister, Mr Crossley, seven of our Year 10 Youth Ministry Leaders program delivered an engaging program at Mary MacKillop. Our students helped the primary school students to understand how valuable and scarce water is, and how our conservation actions and decisions can lead to a global change that will benefit millions of people. Servite student Leaders used the leadership skills they have been developing in their course to lead activities and facilitate small group discussions.
Our students explored Catholic Social Teachings and discussed with the Year 6 students about how we can live these values in our own schools, families and parishes. Through interactive STEM activities, games and challenges, the students identified ways to raise awareness and fundraise for Caritas Project Compassion, which delivers vital global aid initiatives. Our students were challenged, but enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside younger students and employ their skills to lead productive discussions.
