iServi News | 30 November 2018 | Term 4, Week 8
As we come to the end of another very creative year in the Visual Arts Learning Area, it’s great to focus on some of the achievements of our younger students.
This term, the Year Sevens have completed a lino print based on the design and pattern work of Indigenous Australians, the Year Eights are wrapping up their monochromatic still life paintings and the Year 9 groups are putting the finishing touches on their Fauvist portraits and double colour lino prints. Once again, the quality of work produced by these young artists is amazing.
It’s also a time when we ask the students to reflect on what they’ve discovered and achieved over the Semester. It’s encouraging to hear that apart from having fun and being given the opportunity to express themselves creatively, our students recognise that they are learning skills in problem-solving and critical thinking as well as producing work that is completely unique.
