Dear Parents and Guardians

Welcome to Week 9

St Juliana Feast Day

On Tuesday this week, our community gathered together to celebrate St Juliana Feast Day. Days like this are very important in the life of our school as they allow us time to pause and reflect on significant people who have shaped our Servite Story.

St Juliana was a humble person who sacrificed a wealthy and very comfortable lifestyle to serve others in need. She showed great leadership in establishing the first convent of the Servite Sisters where she fulfilled the role of Mother General until her death 35 years later. St Juliana would happily put her own life at risk every day to help the sick, always putting the needs of other before her own.

Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal

Picture01The College has supported the annual Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal for many years. This year saw our largest group assemble at the College on Saturday 27 May. Fifty two students and fice staff ventured out into Tuart Hill and Osborne Park. Within three hours students had collected a total of $1,190.

These donations provide in a typical week:

  • 100,000 meals for the hungry
  • 2000 beds for the homeless
  • 5000 to 8000 food vouchers
  • 1000 people with assistance in finding employment

Pope Francis Wants to Hear From You

Picture01Young people across Australia are being called to share their views about life, faith, and their experience of Church through an online survey. The survey seeks to capture the opinions and perspectives of young people as part of a national consultation process that will inform an international conversation in Rome next year.

Pope Francis will lead the international conversation at the Vatican. Representatives from all over the world will be invited to Rome to share their experiences and views at a meeting in October 2018.
