COVID-19 Update | 9 February 2022
Learning Continuity
The College is effectively prepared for continued delivery of our teaching and learning programs, consistent with required COVID protocols. As necessary, the College will operate in Face-to-Face, Hybrid or Remote mode. An overview of our learning continuity models is available here.
College Communications
If all or part of the school is required to close in response to WA Health requirements, the College will communicate directly with all staff, students and families.
Please ensure the College has a current record of your family contact details.
Test communications will be issued today.
New Protocols for High Caseloads in Schools
The Minister for Education and Training, the Hon Sue Ellery and the Minister for Child Protection and Community Services, the Hon Simone McGurk announced new high caseload protocols for schools this week.
Key points from this announcement are as follows:
• Additional measures in place to keep schools and childcare settings operating safely in a high caseload environment;
• New testing and isolation protocols, reducing isolation to seven days;
• New health measures to reduce movement and exposure risks on school sites;
• Indoor events prohibited;
• Restricting groups of students to contact with their year cohort, where possible;
• Expanded mask wearing for parents; and
• New arrangements for contact and interactions between staff and parents.
Homeroom
Following my communication to families last week, students are now participating in Homeroom in their Pastoral Care groups where they join a class of students from their own year level and Priory rather than from multiple year groups. Students will continue to have a Homeroom teacher who is a member of their Priory.
Breaks
Students are also required to socialise exclusively within their own year groups during break times.
Events
We are continuing to deliver College events consistent with current protocols.
A number of significant College events have been reimagined to ensure a positive experience for all members of our learning community.
Our College Opening Assembly will now be broadcast via live stream on Friday 11 February. Updated information will follow.
Our Interpriory Swimming Carnival is going ahead in a different format. The carnival will now be held as a two day event on Tuesday 15 February and Wednesday 16 February. This event will also be live streamed and updated information will follow.
Our Year 7 Orientation camp will be delivered as a day camp experience with full details to follow.
We will provide further updates around any changes to College events.

Year 7-12 students who have a practical class in Physical Education, Outdoor Education or Performing Arts (Dance) may wear their sport uniform all day on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays when they have a practical lesson on their timetable. On Wednesdays, Year 7-12 students will continue to wear Priory Uniform.
