iServi News | 10 September 2021 | Term 3, Week 8
Our Arts students have been impressing us with the quality of art they are producing in preparation for our Visual Arts Showcase.
Year 7s have been studying Aboriginal art and have worked collaboratively to paint their version of the Servite story, using Aboriginal symbols.
Year 8 Art and Design students focused on Pop Art and created brightly coloured ceramics, based on their interpretation of the theme ‘Party Food’. The Year 8 Fine Art class used the same theme to work on a still life drawing and painting.
Year 9s have produced Lino prints and two dimensional artworks based on the Cubist and Fauvist Art movements.
Working on the theme of Still Life, Year 10 Fine Art students chose an Art movement to work with and produced a painting in a similar style. The Year 10 Art and Design class have produced clay skulls based on Mexican Day of the Dead.
Year 12 General Art students are completing a project where they are repurposing skate decks to create decorative and functional art works.
Opening Night for the Showcase commences at 6.30pm on Tuesday 14 September. All members of the extended Servite community are warmly welcome to join us. RSVP to rsvp@servite.wa.edu.au
