Servite College Interpriory Athletics Carnival
When: 10.00am-2.30pm Friday 9 August 2019
Where: WA Athletics Stadium, Stephenson Ave Mt Claremont WA 6010 (next to HBF Stadium)
Event Guidelines
- Clothing
- Students are required to wear their College sports shorts, sports shoes, College socks and their Priory t-shirt. PE Sports Track Suit (if weather is cold)
- Hat and sunscreen and wet weather protection (water proof jacket, towel etc.)
- Additional clothing in your Priory colours may be worn while in the stands but not while competing (e.g. fairy wings, tights, head bands etc)
- Shoes must be worn for every event. Spikes are allowed on the track but need to meet stadium requirements (needle spikes are not allowed). See Mr Maxwell, Mr Lewis for clarification
- Equipment
Students need to bring:
- Food for the day, NO canteen facilities will be available. Food cannot be taken onto the competition arena, this must be consumed in the grandstands
- 1L of water. There is a drink fountain to refill drink bottles
- Not Permitted
- Electronic devices (e.g. phones, MP3’s players etc)
- Events
- Field events will run throughout the day for approximately 40 minutes each event. Events include shot put, long jump and high jump
- Track events will run throughout the day with the order of events Hurdles/800m, 200m, 100m, 400m and 4x100m relay
- Pre-carnival events will be 1500m, javelin and discus
- Novelty events will take place for each year group throughout the day. There are 2 novelty time slots
- Shield and Trophies
- Priory Shield (from traditional carnival events)
- Grenville Trophy (from novelty events, cheering, organisation)
- Individual Champions (champion and runner-up from all events)
- Spectator Seating
- Parents, friends and family are invited and encouraged to attend the carnival
- Spectator seating is available on the grassed banks to the north of the grandstand. Bring a picnic rug or chair. Parents are kindly asked not to sit in the grandstand
- Spectators are asked to remain off the competition arena throughout the carnival
- A coffee van vendor Koffee2go will be onsite for parents and staff

Sports Update
ACC Championship Boys Senior Soccer
Congratulations to the Senior boys Soccer team. The boys have won through to the semi-finals of the competition after a convincing 3 – 1 win over Swan Christian College in the quarter final on Wednesday July 31. The boys will take on either Chisholm College or Lake Joondalup Baptist College next Wednesday August 7 at John XXIII College with the winner to progress to the final. Good luck boys.
Year 10 Boys ACC AFL Carnival
Congratulations to the boys and staff that represented Servite College at the Division 2 Year 10 boys ACC AFL Carnival on Wednesday July 31. With 4 games throughout the day it was a test of endurance in the warm conditions. The students performed exceptionally well, finishing the day in 3rd place and consolidating the College’s position in the Division 2 carnival for 2020. Thank you to staff members Mr Ryan Redfern and Mr Jon Edwards for their coaching, mentoring and organization of the team.
Year 10 Girls ACC AFL Carnival
On Wednesday August 9 Servite College students will be competing in the Division 3 Year 10 Girls ACC AFL Carnival. Thank you to the students for their commitment to Girls AFL and for representing their College. Good luck, girls.
