Italian Teacher

The successful candidate for this role will have the ability to teach Italian from Years 7-12, including ATAR, demonstrate a passion for teaching and learning, a commitment to staying updated on educational best practices, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet students’ diverse needs. Additionally, teachers should embrace technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance the learning experience.

The chosen candidate must collaborate with all staff to benefit our students. They will report directly to the Head of the Learning Area (HOLA) and the Deputy Principal of Teaching and Learning. Additionally, the successful candidate will oversee Homeroom at the beginning of each day, which entails pastoral and administrative duties for our students. While performing these tasks, the incumbent will be accountable to the Head of Community and the Deputy Principal of Community.

Education Assistant – Mainstream

The Education Assistant will work with students and staff across all levels of the College, with an emphasis on intervention and supporting students with diverse needs. The Education Assistant will work closely with the Head of Learning Diversity and with subject teachers in establishing appropriate and relevant individual education programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Actively participating in the development and implementation of new strategies in mainstream classes, aiming to enhance the educational experience and outcomes for students with diverse learning needs integrated into mainstream classes.
  • Helping to sustain a productive and inclusive learning environment by managing and maintaining specialised equipment, assistive technology, materials, and resources, ensuring they are readily available and effectively utilized to support students’ learning needs.
  • Executing agreed-upon initiatives effectively, with a focus on achieving key performance targets related to the inclusion and academic progress of students with diverse needs in mainstream settings.
  • Supporting the educational assessment process by observing students in various settings, reviewing their educational history, consulting with teachers, and contributing to the analysis of their academic performance and learning profiles, to inform tailored support plans.
  • Assisting students in developing critical social and emotional skills through targeted interventions such as peer mentoring, social stories, and role-playing, ensuring they can successfully engage in mainstream classroom and school activities.
  • Working closely with subject teachers to ensure that students meet their Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals, offering guidance on differentiated instruction and the use of accommodations within the mainstream classroom to support each student’s learning journey.
