Spirit of The Arts Carnevale Lunchtime Concerts
On Tuesday 14 September the Servite Dance Troupe and Year 9/10 Rock Band performed as part of the Catholic Performing Arts ‘Spirit of The Arts Carnevale Lunchtime Concerts’, held in Forrest Chase and Yagan Square. We were blessed with beautiful sunshine and enjoyed performing to the crowd and passers-by. The Servite Dance Troupe performed their Excellence Award-winning dance ‘Field of Light’ which takes inspiration from the Australian desert landscape with choreography representing a dormant seed in a dry desert, bursting into bloom with gentle rhythms of light under a blazing blanket of stars. The band played a variety of songs for audiences, “This Love” by Maroon 5 and “Rude” by MAGIC! at Forrest Chase and “Baby Come Back” by Player and a Britney Spears mash-up of “Hit Me Baby One More Time/Oops I Did It Again” at Yagan Square. All students represented Servite College and the Performing Arts with such zest and pride and it was a wonderful way for us to wrap up the Performing Arts Festival for Catholic Schools and Colleges.
Special congratulation must also go to the following students who recently received awards for their Solo Drama Performances as part of the Festival:
