Mental Health Week is the perfect opportunity to share some easy thing to do every day that can help improve your mental health.
Do these 13 things every day:
- Get up at the same time (or at least within an hour either way)
- 30 minutes of any kind of exercise (yoga, pilates, self-defense, weight lifting, run, ride, swim, row, climb, team sport)
- Drink at least 2 litres of water
- Be grateful for three things (one easy, one moderate and one hard) and write why you are grateful for it
- Be generous with your kindness and your smile
- Walk at least 10000 steps
- Actively engage in rhythm (instrument, dance)
- Do something to relax (meditation, progressive muscle relaxation, epsom salt bath)
- Do something challenging (cold shower, less screens, more chores, learn to cook, use furniture less)
- Learn a new skill (juggling, art, poetry, music, cooking, dance, vegetable gardening)
- Do 5 minutes of some form of breath work
- Spend at least an hour outdoors
- Hug at least one person, tree or animal
