Year 10 Christian Service Learning Day
Daniel Bradshaw, the founder of StreetX Australia, addressed our Year 10s during their Justice and Christian Service Learning Day. Daniel explained how his brand supports community organisations and raises awareness around social issues, epitomizing the core Servite charisms of service and hospitality.
The 2021 focus for our Year 10s is ‘I Choose Courage’. This theme will guide their service projects for 2021, which they have begun to coordinate.
Student Reflection
Last Thursday, the Year 10 cohort took part in a CSL day where they were informed about the different CSL project opportunities. We had a special guest Daniel Bradshaw, owner of a popular street wear brand StreetX, come in and talk to us about his company and how he strives to give back to the community, helping those in need.
The CSL projects offered at Servite College seek to bring the community together and offer service to those in need. Through these acts of charity, we learn how a small act can make a big impact in the life of someone who may be struggling.
Signing up for the projects are easy. Simply go onto Libguides, select Y10/11 and all the projects will be visible to register from. All information and key dates are there to see when you decide what projects you would like to participate in.

Congratulations to Alessio Macri (AN4) for completing the Startlight Foundation Super Swim Challenge over the last month. From January 26 to February 24, thousands of Australians signed up to swim to raise money for sick children.
Swimmers were asked to nominate a distance goal and fundraising goal. Alessio nominated to swim 200km in 30 days to raise money for the foundation, initially, starting off with a fundraising goal of $500. Alessio managed to clock up an impressive 203km and raise over $3000. Well done Alessio for this amazing accomplishment.
