iServi News | 27 September 2019 | Term 3, Week 10
On Tuesday 17 September, Servite Debate Team members Ira, Ugo and myself debated against Nagle Catholic College in our second Skype debate of the year. The motion: “It is better to read a hard copy of a book rather than an online version”. Both sides put up impressive arguments, presenting points on the preservation of literature, inclusivity of reading on devices and health impacts of the blue light. In the end Servite just barely won with a two point difference. We found the comparison of hard books and electronic copies to be rather interesting, and we are looking forward to more debates like these in the future. Our final debates for the year will be held in Term 4 and will be open for all students, teachers and parents to watch. Stay tuned for more details next term! – Matthew Dimasi (SC4)
