iServi News | 30 March 2018 | Term 1, Week 9
On March 19 a number of Year Ten students were selected to attend the GRIP Leadership Conference. Servite College was one of about 90 schools that were fortunate enough to attend the conference, which included the opportunity for students to take part in various workshop activities, to network with students from other schools and to develop their leadership skills.
The conference focused on the transformational aspects of leadership. We looked at ways of developing integrity and at the possibilities to implement change in our own school and in the wider community. The lecturers strongly emphasised that students are never too young or too incapable to bring about change in their school community.
Overall, it was a fulfilling experience with the students acknowledging the fact they uphold the capability to transform aspects of their school, while gaining core leadership values that they are able to use to create positive changes.
