This Semester Year 9 and Year 10 students completing a Learning Diversity Science course have been learning about bees and their role in nature. Bees play an import role in ensuring that plants are pollinated. As part of our learning journey, we explored the role of insects in the ecosystem and looked at some of the places they like to live. Consequently, students decided to design and build a ‘Bug Hotel’ that they can hang in a tree at home. Bug Hotels provide the perfect conditions needed by many solitary insects and encourage pollination of plants in the garden.
