iServi News | 3 July 2020 | Term 2, Week 10
We have come to the end of Semester One of 2020, which has been a semester like no other. The challenges of COVID-19 have affected us all and our Servite Community has proven to be agile, innovative and resilient, adjusting to teaching and learning in a world that seemed to change daily.
I would like to acknowledge our wonderful students who have adapted so quickly to different learning environments this semester and who have embraced the challenges that this has brought. I sincerely thank the families and caregivers of our students who have been and continue to be a support for them. Finally I would like to recognise the amazing work of our teachers throughout a semester they will never forget.
Year 7-10 Semester One Reports
I am pleased to inform you that the Year 7 – 10 Semester One Academic Reports have been released on SEQTA this afternoon.
As communicated previously, some assessments over the semester have needed to be adjusted or removed due to the interruptions of COVID-19. As such, students in Years 7 – 9 will a receive a grade only on their reports. The grades are determined by assessing student work (informal and formal assessments) over the semester, according to the Judging Standards of the Western Australian Curriculum.
The Year 10 Reports also have a numerical percentage included which will assist with making subject selections for Year 11 2021.
Please take the time to review your child’s report with them. I encourage you to celebrate their successes and discuss areas for improvement. Importantly, work with them to review their learning goals and plan for how they can improve.
Please note that Academic Excellence and Merit Awards will be given at the beginning of Term Three.
