iServi News | 5 July 2019 | Term 2, Week 10
Our Year 9 Technologies-Food classes participated in an exciting MasterChef competition where five students in each class competed against each other in a cook-off. Each dish was very diverse ranging from pork buns, potato mash, sweet and sour pork to brownies and zucchini slices. Students were given a mark out of 15 for taste, presentation and difficulty of the chosen dishes.
The expectations were very high as Ms McAuliffe and Ms Townsend were judging along with Ms Howard. The judges were thoroughly impressed with the execution of each of the meals presented to them by the students and congratulated everybody on their hard work, though there could only be one winner. It was difficult for the judges to choose from such delicious and unique foods cooked by young chefs, but the final scores were in. The students crowned as winners for the 2019 Servite MasterChef were Joel Petrollino, who made Chocolate Brownies and Val Tartaglia, who prepared Spaghetti Carbonara.
