Mr Quartermaine Transforms Maths
Servite College Mathematics Teacher Mr Dan Quartermaine has been announced as a winner of the Mathspace Transformative 20 Awards for 2019. From more than 5,000 teachers nationally, Mr Quartermaine was selected for this award based on a range of criteria which included purpose, selflessness and his vision for the future of maths education.
Mathspace is a digital resource offering individualised programs that coach students through maths problems step by step. It’s accessible via the web or through apps. Mathspace places engagement, meaning and personal progress at the centre of maths learning. Taking customisation to the next level, Mathspace is an adaptive platform with a difference, devoted to understanding how students get their answers, because that’s where the learning takes place.
The Mathspace Transformative 20 is a national awards program designed to celebrate exceptional teachers and students. These awards are presented to individuals who strive for impact, work with purpose, focus on continuous improvement and demonstrate selflessness through their commitment to helping others.
Congratulations, Mr Quartermaine!
We also congratulate Damien Ienco (SA4), Tristan Pillaiy (AN5) and Lucius Soosai (SA4), for making it to the Mathspace Top 100 shortlist of students. Whilst they did not make it to the Top 20, Damien, Tristan and Lucius are to be commended for their growth and dedication to their learning this year. Well done on your efforts and achievements, boys.
