Together in the spirit
As a Catholic community we strive to be responsive to the needs of our world and Term 2 has been one like no other. With COVID-19 restrictions in place, many normal activities have changed, but our community has worked together through these challenges and is a testament to the strength of who we all are.
Our school Feast Day celebrations were adapted this semester as our students organised and participated in class-based reflections and liturgies. Working with the Liturgy Team, our students have participated in Reconciliation, Adoration, and many forms of personal and community prayer as opportunities for growth and reflection.
We have responded with compassion to those in need during this time of global crisis. Supporting various projects in our local and global community, our students and staff have found ways to reach out and offer support. Our Knitting Club, Uthando Dolls and aged care pen-pal programs have grown in popularity as our students found ways to share their God-given gifts with others. Students are encouraged to visit our Christian Service Learning site, explore the various opportunities available and to speak with the CSL team if they need any assistance.
Many thanks to all our staff for their ongoing work in supporting the faith development of our students.
Finally, this weekend we have the opportunity to join with our broader community as we journey alongside our Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander brothers and sisters on Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Sunday (5 July). NAIDOC Week follows because it is always celebrated in the first full week of July. I would encourage all families to come together as a sign of solidarity this weekend in our Parishes for this special occasion.
