In Week 6 of Term 1, the College celebrated Maths Week – and what a fantastic success it was! Students and staff enthusiastically took part in activities celebrating this year’s theme: Mathematics, Art and Creativity.
The excitement build up to the Friday’s highly anticipated Pi Recital Competition, where year 8 student, Chimika (SA6) amazing us all by recalling an incredible 99 digits of Pi – congratulations!
During Break Two sessions in the ARC, students were engaged in hands-on and competitive activities, including”
- A Rubik’s Cube speed challenge
- Exploring mathematical creativity through origami
- Building 3D Sierpiński triangles, a fantastic way to visualise fractals and patterns
In the classroom:
- Year 8 students created Pi chains using different colours to represent each digit of Pi – bringing mathematical patterns to life!
- Year 9 students designed Pi pictures
A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped make Maths Week such an inspiring event!
