Year 12 Final Week (of formal classes)
________________________

This week has marked an important milestone for our Year 12 students as they completed their final week of formal classes at Servite College.

It has been a week filled with celebration, laughter, friendship and reflection, providing our Year 12s with the opportunity to enjoy some final moments together as a cohort and to recognise the many memories and relationships that have shaped their time at the College.

Throughout the week, students embraced a wonderful range of activities and traditions. Monday began with the creativity of ‘Anything But a Bag’, followed on Tuesday by our Senario Feast Day celebrations and the always highly anticipated Staff versus Student Volleyball match. Wednesday provided an opportunity for students to leave messages and memories through shirt signing, while Thursday brought together the Priory Shirt Swap, shared lunch, Year 12 soccer game and Rainbow Parachute.

The week concluded on Friday with a particularly memorable program of College and Priory Assemblies and farewells, a concert and Colour Run. These occasions provided an opportunity to celebrate our Year 12 students, recognise their contribution to College life and enjoy some final moments together before they move into the next stage of their journey.

Our sincere thanks go to Ms Giuffre, Ms Potter, Ms Plant and the many staff involved in planning, organising and supporting the week. A great deal of work goes on behind the scenes to create experiences such as these, and we are very grateful for the care and commitment shown in making the students’ final week of classes such an enjoyable and memorable one.

While formal classes have now concluded, the Year 12 journey at Servite is not yet complete. Many students will now turn their attention to preparing for their final examinations and will return to the College for further support and feedback from their teachers. Early next term, we look forward to welcoming all Year 12 students back for their Year 12 Breakfast and, ultimately, their Graduation.

To our Year 12 students, we congratulate you on reaching this significant milestone. We hope this week has provided many moments that you will look back on fondly and that, as you prepare for what comes next, you do so with pride in all you have achieved and in the knowledge that you will always remain an important part of our Servite community.

Senario and Our Lady of Sorrows Feast Days
________________________

Over the past few weeks, our Priory communities have come together to celebrate their respective Feast Days, including Senario Priory and, more recently, Our Lady of Sorrows.

Each celebration provided an opportunity to gather in faith, beginning with Mass and continuing with time for students and staff to connect and celebrate together as a community.

Priory Feast Days hold an important place in the life of Servite College. They connect us with our rich Servite heritage, deepen our understanding of the people and traditions that shape each Priory, and remind us of the importance of faith, community and service.

These occasions also give us the opportunity to reflect on the example of Mary, Our Lady of Sorrows, and the Seven Holy Founders, and on how we continue to live out our Servite charisms and values in our everyday lives.

ACC Athletics Carnival
________________________

Servite College is incredibly proud to celebrate an outstanding result at the recent ACC Division E Carnival, with our students claiming five of the seven available shields and being crowned Overall Champion College.

Our students achieved first place in the Junior Girls, Junior Boys, Overall Girls and Overall Boys categories, culminating in the College securing the Overall Championship. This wonderful achievement means Servite will be promoted to Division D for 2027.

I was fortunate to visit the carnival and personally experience the excitement, energy and enthusiasm of our students. It was wonderful to see them supporting one another, competing with determination and embracing the opportunity to strive for their personal best.

This success is also a reflection of the wonderful culture that continues to grow across Sport at Servite. I would particularly like to acknowledge and congratulate our Head of Sport, Mr David Maxwell, whose leadership has been instrumental in building a culture centred on engagement, participation, encouragement and striving for personal best. The enthusiasm and pride displayed by our students at the carnival was a wonderful reflection of this work.

Thank you also to the Health and Physical Education staff who supported our students throughout the day and helped create such a positive and encouraging atmosphere.

Most importantly, congratulations to every student who represented Servite. Whether competing for a place, contributing points to the team or simply giving their very best, each student played a part in this outstanding achievement and represented the College with determination, pride and genuine Servite spirit. New Montorsoli Centre and Community Sports Centre Building Update
________________________

We are pleased to report that construction of our Stage 2 development continues to progress well, with both the new Montorsoli Centre and Community Sports Centre taking shape.

The stabilised rammed earth walls to both buildings are now complete, including a striking fleur-de-lis College emblem formed in relief on the western elevation of the Montorsoli Centre. In-ground electrical, stormwater and plumbing services have also been installed, with key building services including ICT, security, PA, hydraulic and mechanical systems being carefully integrated throughout the development.

Construction of the Montorsoli Centre lift shaft is underway, while the steel structure for the double-court sports hall and associated amenities is nearing completion, providing a clear sense of the scale of the new Community Sports Centre.

Work is also progressing off site in workshops and studios across Perth as a range of elements are prepared for installation. The next major milestones will include the ground slab for the sports hall and commencement of the structural steel framing for the Montorsoli Centre.

It is exciting to see this important development continuing to take shape and to imagine the opportunities these new facilities will provide for our students and wider College community.

Student Presentation Standards Review
________________________

We are currently reviewing our Student Uniform Policy following consultation with staff and students.

The feedback has been encouraging. There is broad support for maintaining our current standards, with the strongest message being that expectations could be made clearer in some areas and applied more consistently across the College.

We are also very grateful for the strong support we continue to receive from the majority of our parents and caregivers, who understand the importance of our presentation standards and work in partnership with us to reinforce these expectations at home.

As a College, we recognise that this is a shared responsibility. We have a responsibility to ensure our expectations are clear, reasonable and applied fairly and consistently. Our students have a responsibility to meet these expectations, and our families play an important role in helping them do so.

As we finalise the review, we will be looking particularly at areas where greater clarity may be helpful, including hair, jewellery, makeup and uniform presentation, while also strengthening the consistency of our processes and follow-up.

We ask all families to continue supporting us by ensuring students arrive at College each day meeting our presentation standards and by reinforcing these expectations at home. Consistency is most effective when students receive the same clear message from both school and home.

Ultimately, our student presentation standards are about more than uniform. They contribute to a sense of pride, belonging and respect for our College community, while supporting the personal responsibility and self-discipline we want our students to carry with them beyond Servite.

Further information regarding any refinements to the Student Uniform Policy will be shared with families once the review is complete.

2027 Student Leadership
________________________

We are delighted to announce the appointment of our 2027 Student Leadership Team.

The selection process was an especially challenging one this year, with a large number of outstanding students bravely putting themselves forward for consideration. The quality of candidates was a wonderful reflection of the confidence, character and commitment of our students.

I commend every student who nominated for a leadership position. Putting yourself forward requires courage, and regardless of whether you will wear an official leadership badge next year, I know many of you will continue to lead our College with pride, generosity and a strong sense of service throughout 2027.

Our newly appointed student leaders have been selected for the way they demonstrate our College values and their commitment to contributing positively to the life of Servite. They will play an important role in representing our students, strengthening our community and inspiring others through their example.

At Servite, leadership is ultimately about service to others. We look forward to seeing each of our student leaders embrace the opportunities ahead and answer the Servite call to Service with courage, compassion and purpose.

Congratulations to our 2027 Student Leadership Team on this well-deserved achievement.

Father’s Day Breakfast
________________________

It was wonderful to welcome so many fathers, grandfathers and significant father figures to Servite College for our Father’s Day and Father Figures Breakfast earlier in the term.
The morning was filled with connection, laughter and friendly competition, with families enjoying breakfast together and activities including cornhole and Connect Four. We were also fortunate to hear heartfelt reflections from our Head Boy, Loro, and his uncle about the important role fathers and father figures play in the lives of young people.

Their message was a reminder that this influence is often found in the everyday moments – being present, offering encouragement, sharing advice, celebrating success and supporting young people through challenges.

At Servite, it is important to us that we create opportunities such as this for our families to come together, strengthen relationships and enjoy being part of our College community. These shared experiences help build the strong sense of connection and belonging that sits at the heart of who we are.

This also connects beautifully with our Servite tradition, where Service is central to our identity. Fatherhood and mentorship are powerful expressions of service, often given quietly and without expectation of recognition.

To all of the fathers, grandfathers and father figures in our community, thank you for the love, guidance and support you provide, and for the important role you play in helping our students become all they are created to be.
