Year 10 Maths Extension – Maths In Action!

Last term our Year 10 students designed catapults using pop sticks, a spoon, and elastic bands to launch blocks across the oval. They measured, recorded, and then modelled the block’s path with a parabola.

This linked their understanding of quadratic equations to a real-world problem to determine the maximum height of their block’s journey.
