Year 11 Chemistry | Liquid Nitrogen Ice-Cream

Year 11 Chemistry students had some fun with liquid nitrogen this term. They investigated the effect of decreasing temperature on the volume of a gas, by shrinking a balloon using the liquid nitrogen.

They then froze a banana and shattered it using a hammer and froze flowers and crumbled them using their hands. Not to waste the liquid nitrogen, they used it to make Oreo ice-cream which was a big thumbs up!
