Year 12 Media Excursion

The Year 12 Media students attended a hands-on Screen Production Workshop at Murdoch University this term, where they learned to operate a professional TV studio and rotated through roles on the studio floor and in the control room to produce a live panel show.

Students had a great time and shared highlights of the day, such as: “filming a class interview…was really funny,” “scriptwriting and then being the interviewer,” “doing the reality TV segment,” and “seeing studio equipment I’d never seen before.”

The experience not only gave them valuable insight into industry-standard production practices but also, as one student put it, let them enjoy “the community vibe” while connecting with peers and trying new creative roles.
