Living in Community and Restoring Harmony
Our Year 8 students recently participated in two Retreat Days designed to deepen their understanding of what it means to be part of a Servite community and to explore their call to live in harmony with God, self, others and creation.
On one day, students focused on what it means to live in a Servite community. They explored our College campus, discovering the stories of the people after whom many of our buildings and spaces are named, while developing a deeper understanding of our Servite Charisms and how these can be lived each day.
Students also welcomed a guest speaker from Vinnies, who led engaging and interactive activities that challenged them to consider what it means to live without enough. Through these experiences, students reflected on how we are called to respond to the needs of others with compassion, hospitality and service.

The second day focused on restoring God’s harmony in the world – harmony with God, self, others and creation. Through a range of reflective, creative and interactive activities, students explored each of these relationships and made connections with the learning they have been undertaking in their Religious Education classes.
Across the two days, students were encouraged to reflect on their place within our Servite community and the part each of us can play in creating a world marked by greater harmony, compassion and care for one another.
