Year 12 Fremantle Education Centre (FEC) students presented their business concepts at the annual FEC Expo last week. Along with four other Servite students, Jayden Angello (OLS1), Hussien Cheaib (SM2), Daniel Fishwick (SE6) and Olivier Niyobuhugiro (SE1), we created and ran our own stall for our new designer fashion brand, H.G.O.D. Our idea was to construct a clothing brand targeted at young adults that was affordable, unique and constructed utilising eco-friendly materials. Our ideas, dedication and teamwork enabled us to deliver an informative and engaging presentation. The day overall was extremely enjoyable and an amazing experience to showcase our leadership and entrepreneurial skills.

Last Friday 3 September we held a Business Expo at Fremantle Education Centre. The purpose of the Expo was to combine and demonstrate all of the skills we had learnt throughout the year. We worked collaboratively in groups promoting products and/or services. Our group created a coffee business which was called Grounded. For the Business Expo to be successful, we had to work as a team, problem solve and use our communication skills. We had approximately four weeks to work on this project which made it quite intense. However, it was amazing experience and we had a lot of fun seeing the finished product come to life.

My group was excited to showcase our business idea to potential customers. Our product was an online app that allows you to scan your room and convert it into a virtual 3D model, where you can then design your room to your specific taste and style. The app also works as a marketplace where you can buy furniture. Our group received very positive feedback and our presentation was very professional. The Business Expo gave me the opportunity to showcase my skills and also learn new skills, which will help me in my future endeavours.
