iServi News | 4 February 2022 | Term 1, Week 1
Welcome
Welcome to the 2022 School Year, with a very special welcome to families joining our community for the first time. As I commence my own Servite story, I look forward sharing my hopes for the College and my vision for personalised student success. I am committed to ensuring all students have continued opportunities at Servite College and are inspired to be the best they can be. Together with the staff, I will partner with families to ensure every Servite student experiences success. I encourage all parents and caregivers to feel part of their child’s learning journey. Our Servite charism calls us to build community and to fully immerse ourselves in our College.
COVID-19 Coronavirus
At Servite, we are thankful to have safely commenced our first term. I affirm that required COVID protocols are in place on our campus and that the College is closely monitoring current health advice.
Wellbeing
Wellbeing is the state of feeling good in body, mind and spirit. We seek to promote and protect the wellbeing of all members of our community. I invite you to view the wellbeing resources curated by Catholic Education Western Australia, available here.
Timetable Changes from Monday 7 February 2022
To minimise the number of staff, students, families or visitors that could be impacted by the presence of a positive case on campus, there will be changes to Homeroom from Monday 7 February 2022.
Students will participate in Homeroom in their Pastoral Care groups where they will join a class of students from their own year level and Priory rather than from multiple year groups. Students will continue to have a Homeroom teacher who is a member of their Priory.
Students will also be required to socialise exclusively within their own year groups during break times.
Students will be briefed on all changes on Monday morning.
All room changes will be visible in SEQTA over the weekend.
Students are asked to check their timetables and the Student Notices on SEQTA before they arrive at school next week.

Ongoing Measures
The following measures remain in place on campus:
- Use of well-ventilated spaces, as required;
- Physical distancing in compliance with the Public Health Orders;
- Staff, students and visitors reminded to use COVID-19 safe practices such as masks, hand and respiratory hygiene;
- Enhanced cleaning services and supplies.
Staff, students, families, visitors are not to attend schools if they are unwell or test positive to COVID-19. Parents and carers are asked to seek medical advice if their child exhibits symptoms of COVID-19 and are encouraged to notify the College if they have undergone testing. Normal processes for advising the school of a child’s absence will apply for any parent who keeps their unwell child home.
Learning Continuity
Learning continuity plans are being prepared as a contingency to ensure our learning programs can be delivered if all or part of the school is required to close. We will continue to align with WA Health and CEWA guidelines and will update families regularly.
ICT Updates
As families are aware, the College is completing the migration of our IT services to deliver an upgraded digital environment for all students. We have a great team in the ARC available to assist students and families during school hours as needed. We are developing further IT support resources for all families to access at any time and look forward to sharing these soon. Many thanks for your patience as we complete our migration processes.
If you have urgent questions regarding IT, please email helpdesk@servite.wa.edu.au
If your child does not have access to the internet at home, please advise Ms Monica Maxwell, Acting Deputy Principal Community via email to monica.maxwell@servite.wa.edu.au
Year of Compassion
The College Value of Compassion is our focus for the 2022 school year. The safety and wellbeing of our students is always our priority as is showing care and concern for all members of our community. I thank you for your ongoing support in keeping our community safe and ask that you would pray for those in our wider community who are suffering.
Ms Silvana Vicoli
