In Year 8 Science students have been learning how to use microscopes. Lucas Cooke (SA2) and James Alymore (OLS3) have reflected on their learning.
In Science we are using microscopes to observe different cells. We learnt about how different cells are specialised to suit their function. We struggled to identify all the structures in the cell when viewed under the microscope. We found it really interesting looking at living organisms in pond water and all the different type of cells on prepared slides. It was very cool to see the different views of the specialised cells depending on the magnification, from 40x to 100x to 400x.
