Student Success – Sophia Papalia
Congratulations to Year 9 student Sophia Papalia (SC7) who has made the WA Girls State U15’s Soccer Squad and will compete at Coffs Harbour, NSW in July 2019. It is an outstanding achievement and will be such a rewarding experience to play in the National Youth Championships. Well done, Sophia.
Servite Team 1 – 22 June
On Saturday the 22 of June we versed AJNC 7-8 2 we won 19-14. In first quarter we were really good at pressuring the other team. There were a lot of held balls form the other team. In second quarter we were good at leading. We got the ball when they tried to pass to another player of their team. In third quarter we fell behind with the score 12-12, but in the last quarter we got there and scored 7 goals. Great job to the whole team, we played a good game. – Jazelle Femia, Year 8
Servite Team 2 – 22 June
Our team played St Hilda’s on Saturday morning. It was a very close game, with Servite winning by one point. The final score was Servite – 21 and St Hilda’s – 20.
Dalinda and Sophia shot many amazing goals, Neve and Jasmine did some great defending and Emily did some amazing centre work. It was Neve’s first game of the season because of a leg injury and she played very well. Let’s keep up the good work. – Ella Carington Smith, Year 7.
Servite Team 2 – 29 June
It was a chilly morning, and we were one player down, but that didn’t stop us from sealing a win. We didn’t have a good start to the game, missing a few goals. At quarter time, the score was even. Second quarter we managed to intercept the ball a few times, this allowed us to gain a few more goals. Third quarter, all of our goals were going in, we were playing fantastically and we were winning by 9 goals. Last quarter wasn’t our best, we struggled getting the ball down to the goal circle. The opposition managed to gain a few more goals but that didn’t stop us from winning the game. In the end it was a close win to Servite, 27-24. – Captain: Madison Rains
