Football
On Wednesday 7 August, twenty Year 8-10 students headed to Coolbinia Reserve to participate in the ACC Dockers Lightning Cup.
For many of the students, this was their first AFL game experience. The girls were fantastic in all three games. The results were as follows:
Irene McCormack 36 v Servite 33
Sacred Heart 76 v Servite 6
Lake Joondalup Baptist College 18 v Servite 38
Although Sacred Heart were too strong for all teams, the other two teams were very competitive, and the girls rose to the occasion.
A big thank you to Juliet Williamson (Practicum Teacher) for co-coaching the team on the day and encouraging the girls.

Netball
Last weekend Servite College Netball Team 1 played against second place on the ladder, Newman College. We didn’t have the best start to the game as the score in the first quarter was 3-8. In the second quarter we fought hard and managed to be tied at half time, 12-12. Third quarter it was goal after goal for Servite, as was the fourth quarter. With all our effort and sweat, we won 29-19. To make the day even better we are now top of the ladder. We all hope to keep the winning streak up and stay ladder leaders. Congratulations to Servite College Netball Team 2 who also had a convincing win over FFNC, 25-8.

Interpriory Sports Update
Our Year 12 Interpriory Volleyball games commenced on Tuesday during breaks, with each Priory taking on another. Each team who won their preliminary game, went through to the Finals on Wednesday.
The scores over both days were as follows:
Senario 25 v Saint Anthony 9
San Clemente 9 v Saint Mary 27
Annunziata 14 v Our Lady of Sorrows 15
Semi Final
Senario 17 v Annunziata 15
Grand Final
Saint Mary 19 v Senario 25
The grand final was a tight battle with Senario winning. This broke Saint Mary’s record of winning every volleyball interpriory competition for their entire schooling.
This group of students should be commended on their commitment to the team and always playing in a positive spirit.
We look forward to the Year 11 competition beginning next week on Tuesday, with Senario taking on Saint Anthony during break one.
