Year 10 student Tyla Babich (SM3) was recently recognised by the Shire of Gingin and Gingin Police Station for his exceptional service to Moore River Ranch.
Moore River Ranch is a working ranch and a wildlife sanctuary at Red Gully in the Shire of Gingin. Moore River Ranch staff and volunteers work with animal welfare and environmental organisations to protect the environment, provide a safe haven for native species and act as a release sanctuary for injured wildlife bought back to health.
Sergeant Dave Harnett from Gingin Police presented Tyla with his award, and commented that the certificate was bestowed “In recognition of your outstanding bravery and courage during the Red Gully Bush Fire event in January 2021. Your action to save wildlife affected by the fire and your commitment to the active defence of Moore River Ranch and Wildlife Sanctuary was truly commendable.”
Congratulations Tyla, on your courage to lead!
