iServi News | 4 December 2020 | Term 4, Week 8
Students from the Learning Diversity Inclusion Program have now completed their work experience placements for 2020.
Supported by the College’s Education Assistants, our Year 10s worked one day a week whilst students in Year 11–12 had the opportunity to work two days per week. Servite staff worked collaboratively with Host Employers to develop students’ skills.
Students were placed in environments that facilitated the development of valuable work skills, including collaboration and team work. The training and social interaction included in this program provides our students with a good foundation to build further skills as they experience a variety of workplaces.
We are extremely grateful to the employers who hosted our students: ACTIV Business Services (Osborne Park), Good Sammy (Balcatta), Kosher Providore (Menora), Vinnies (Stirling), Westcare (Bassendean), and Woolworths (Yokine). We would also like to thank the staff of the companies listed, for the warm welcome and inclusivity that is always offered to both the students and staff of Servite College.
Students have enjoyed an eventful year of work experience and are eagerly looking forward to their placements in 2021.
