Year 11 Business, Management and Enterprise students enjoyed an incursion this week. Students were engaged by a presentation from small business owner Ms Shannon Fragomeli from the Prospect Project who has sold over 60,000 candles and donated $38,000 of profit to charity.
Students welcomed the opportunity to make their own candle and participated in every part of the candle production process with enthusiasm. Students appreciated the practical elements of this class where they could analyse entrepreneurial skills, production processes, cost of production, outsourcing, and marketing. They followed up by using creative thinking tools to see how they could enhance the business to improve profit and success.
The incursion pushed students out of their comfort zone and challenged their learning so they can achieve success.
