Welcome to our Graduating Class of 2026
This was an exciting week for the current Year Six students who will be joining us at the College next year.
Monday was our Year 7, 2021 Orientation Day, a busy day filled with lots of activities in different subject areas. Priory rivalry was quickly established after the 180 students were allocated to their home away from home for the next six years. Next years’ Year Eleven Buddies spent time getting to know our new students, provided lots of advice and coordinated many team building activities.
Our first day of school next year will be with Year Seven, Eleven and Twelve students only. This allows the Year Sevens to spend more time with their buddies.
The Parent Information Evening on Tuesday was an informative group session before moving into Priory meetings for more specific information. The Year 7 Welcome Guide, provided as part of the parent gift from the College, is essential reading for all parents as it contains key details over the various components of College life.

Logan Gilchrist (SM2)
My name’s Logan.
On the first day of high school, a pretty long time ago, a big bunch of emotions hit me, I was nervous, kinda excited, but I had a little hint of fear. Back then the school was like a labyrinth to me. But all of these problems seemed to disappear in Homeroom when my sister, as well as great teachers, the lovely Ms O’Connor and Ms Giuffre, students and buddies always welcomed me to to Homeroom.
If you’re wondering what I feel about high school now, it sounds silly that I was so frightened. High school has so many fun opportunities in our electives such as my favourites – Fine Art and Woodwork – which I could never have experienced in primary school. My sister had helped me navigate the school grounds and it became very easy. At Servite I’ve always felt part of community where everyone shows compassion, respectfulness and kindness every day.
Zoe Hooker (SC4)
Hi, my name is Zoe and my first day of school was quite different to Olivia’s and Logan’s experiences because I started on the first day of Term 3 and I came from a Government school.
I was worried that I only knew a few people from sport and I was concerned that everyone already had friends and I would be left by myself.
I was so wrong – coming to Servite has been the best thing ever. I was welcomed by my Homeroom and people in all my classes. My new friends showed me to classes, introduced me to my teachers and helped me with my locker. I immediately felt welcome and I was no longer nervous. Now I love coming to school, which is something I never thought I would say.
I really enjoyed the Interpriory Athletics Carnival and I also represented Servite in the ACC Athletics. I’m excited about doing NAS Sport next year, this is when we compete against Chisholm, John XXIII, Newman and Sacred Heart in different sports in Terms 1 and 2. There are lots of sports to choose from if you like your sport.
Overall, it has been such fun to be here and I am looking forward to the next five years.
Olivia Vacca (SC6)
Hi, my name is Olivia Vacca and congratulations, your child is officially becoming a high school student! Sure, the first day is quite scary and nerve wracking, but lucky for your child, they are at Servite College. Servite is the most warm and welcoming high school I know, so don’t stress.
On the first day of school it will just be the Year 7s, Year 11s and the Year 12s. The Year 11 Buddies will show the Year 7s around and look after them. Your child will even have their locker near their Buddies. I was really worried about having a locker at first, but if I ever got stuck, I always had my buddy to help me out. And before I knew it, I could unlock my locker in seconds.
Since we needed to get used to going to travelling around the campus, teachers understood if we were late to classes or to Homeroom. If we ever got lost or didn’t know where our class was, we just asked a fellow student or a teacher.
Year 7 kicks off with a formation program with lots of team building activities with our friends. This four week program finished with all of us going on camp. My Year 7 camp was amazing! With camp, we go with one other Priory and you do so many fun and thrilling activities together. At first it may seem scary to go to camp with people that you have never met before, but I’m sure your child will really enjoy it. They will meet so many kind and caring people at camp, and before you know it, will make so many new friendships that will hopefully last throughout their high school years.
When I first walked into the gates, I was so nervous, all I could think about was not having any friends because all of my best friends were in different Priories. But really, I was fine, all the students here at Servite gave me a big warm welcome and I made so many new friends. So, don’t worry, they will enjoy their time here at Servite College!
