Year 7 Science classes have recently created ‘Bug Hotels’ as part of our assessment in Biology. First, we selected a bug to study and then determined its Genus and Species. Next, we did extensive research and learnt everything we needed to know about our chosen specimen. We made sure to research everything about their habitats, their prey, their predators as well as how they defend and protect themselves.
After collecting all of the supplies and materials we needed to create our hotel, the group started to build the most suitable and fancy ecosystem for our bug. Once we felt that our diorama was perfect we handed it in. We also submitted an A4 sheet of paper with all the additional information about our bug.
We thought this was incredibly educational and a new, fun way to learn all about our selected bugs. Biology is truly interesting and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
