Year 8 Food Science Technology students were tasked to create a healthy burger for their major assessment task.
During the investigation stage they produced and tasted four different types of proteins that could be used as burger patties; beef, pork, chicken and chickpeas. For some, it was the first time they had eaten something other than the traditional ‘beef burger’. After completing their taste test they went on to design their ideal burger. Students then produced this burger and evaluated both their production process and their end results.
