Food Science Technology students modelled the Servite College value of hospitality as they hosted an afternoon tea event for invited guests during Week 3 this Term. Students developed their cooking, planning, collaboration and communication skills in this task. Congratulations on your efforts and achievements, students.

Last Friday our Year Eight Food Science Technology class hosted an Afternoon Tea for parents and guardians. Leading up to the event, we prepared and cooked a variety of food items such as: sausage rolls, muffins, ANZAC biscuits and quiches, which were fun to make. We held the afternoon tea under the shade of a gazebo in the well-manicured gardens by the Foods room. It was a lovely setting and my mother and Grandma thoroughly enjoyed themselves and appreciated all the effort that was put into the event.

We had the opportunity of inviting a guest to an Afternoon Tea showcasing all the amazing foods we had prepared during our Food Science Technology class time. I really enjoyed seeing all our work coming together. I especially enjoyed seeing the expressions on the guest’s faces when they walked in the room and saw the wonderful foods we prepared. I also enjoyed eating it all!
