Exam Preparation
In preparation for the Year 11 and 12 Examinations, Servite teachers are consolidating strategies and implementing initiatives over the next three weeks to maximise the learning outcomes for our students.
In supporting our students, we have placed past WACE Examination papers, marking keys and examiners’ reports on each SEQTA Course page for students to work through. These resources provide core resources for exam practice, helping students to become familiar with question types and to identify any gaps in their knowledge and understanding. There is also a link on the SEQTA Course pages to Year 12 Study and Revision Skills that teachers have curated to assist our students in their examination preparation.
Students have been given access to course content through SEQTA, Teams and OneNote and are able to work through and revise this in their study periods and at home. I strongly encourage students to collaborate with each other either in the virtual space or the physical space at school. Speaking and listening to others’ ideas helps deepen understanding, provides encouragement and support, and flags areas that require more work.
For each assessment, students have been given exemplars to demonstrate how to achieve excellent results and these should be revised as well. Portions of class time over the next three weeks will be given to practicing the skills required to answer examination questions effectively to gain the most marks possible per question and perfect the art of completing examinations successfully and efficiently.

University Success
As universities are opening up various early offer pathways, they continue to communicate the importance of maintaining academic rigour and striving for success. They have emphasized that the skills, habits, routines and knowledge that grows as students prepare for their final examinations enable them to be independent learners that will thrive at university. It is so important that regardless of early offers, students continue to do their best in their studies.
As part of its response to the current COVID-19 pandemic, TISC will open applications for 2021 undergraduate entry earlier than usual, on Monday 18 May 2020. More information is available here.
We strongly encourage students to take the opportunity to utilize all of the excellent resources and strategies put in place to support them to achieve their best in the Semester One Examinations.
