Year 12
After studying contemporary social issues in the Year 12 General course, students selected critical issues in Australian society and then created magazine cover pages, feature articles and advertisements to suit the chosen issue. Students were asked to closely consider their chosen target audience, the type of magazine they wanted to create and how they could adequately highlight the issue. In creating the magazine, students were required to incorporate their knowledge of both visual and persuasive techniques to appeal to their chosen target audience and create an engaging piece.

Year 8
My Year 8 class is learning about poetry and were given a task to write an acrostic poem about a place, person or season and within their acrostic poem they had to incorporate some rhyming or a simile. Students were then asked to decorate it and submit it. I was really impressed with their work!

Year 8
My Year 8 class wrote some great metaphor poems last week. Students were given prompts to consider (the sun, the moon, a thunderstorm, the rain, snow and the sea) and were required to include a metaphor comparing different things, or ideas, to help readers understand their topic.
