Week 10 Professional Learning
This week has been an exciting one as staff have been preparing programs for Learning Anywhere, Anytime at Servite. We have reflected on our first week of remote teaching and learning and have used data and feedback to inform our practice and content creation for Term 2. These processes will enable us to continue developing our students as researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs, aligned with our Servite College vision for learning.
We believe that we are a learning community, made up of our students, families and staff. We are all learners. This has been evident during Week 10, as staff have been researching and collaborating with each other to implement best practices for teaching and learning in a remote context. There were occasions during the week when staff gathered together in a virtual meeting space online, to share ideas and showcase what they were learning and devising. The enthusiasm and vibrancy of these meetings was dynamic. Gathering together as a true professional learning community gives witness to the dedication and hard work of our Servite staff.
Interim Reports
Interim reports are available today. I encourage students and families to discuss these together. Take notice of where things are going well and where there are areas for improvement. Take some time over the Easter break to review learning goals and re-focus these or set new ones for Term 2.
2020 WACE Update
This week an email was sent to all Year 12 students and families with some important updates about WACE, University Admissions and VET. I encourage all Year 12 students and their families to review this information.
Year 11 and Year 12 ATAR Subject Examinations
Year 11 and Year 12 ATAR Subject examinations will take place in Term 2. These are likely to take place online. The examination timetable is currently being constructed and will be sent to students as soon as possible.
I wish you all a restful break and a blessed Easter.
Mrs Monica Maxwell
(Acting) Deputy Principal – Teaching and Learning
