Feast of Saint Juliana Falconieri OSM
Our College community will celebrate the feast of St Juliana Falconieri OSM on Monday 20 June.
At a very young age Saint Juliana set her priorities in life.
Although Saint Juliana was raised as member of a wealthy Florentine family, she followed a very modest and simple pathway focused on living the commandment of love.
As a niece of St Alexis Falconieri, one of the founders of the Servite Order, Saint Juliana adopted Servite attitudes of humility and simplicity and gave service to all those who were in need.
Saint Juliana is the most wonderful role model for all of us to live our life with courage, deep trust in God and a commitment to service. St Juliana’s attitude of service was remarkable. She put herself at risk while she was supporting and healing sick and wounded people in homes and hospitals.
Founder of the Servite Sisters and a patron saint of the College, Saint Juliana is a model for all servant leaders. Saint Juliana was widely recognised for the selfless service she gave to others during her life.
In our staff faith formation program this week, some of our staff have connected deeply with Saint Juliana’s story. Being a Servite Sister, I am so blessed to have Saint Juliana as a role model. As we prepare to celebrate in honour of Saint Juliana next week, we reflect on her magnificent attitude of compassion and her record of service given with humility.
Let’s continue the legacy of Saint Juliana and honour her with our witnessing life.
