Visual Arts Showcase
Tuesday 14 September saw the Opening Night of the Servite College Arts Showcase.
Students have been very hard at work over the past three terms, creating unique and beautiful Artwork for display. In excess of 500 pieces were on display and featured some outstanding artworks ranging from ceramic food, Tim Burton sculptures, paintings, drawings and some very interesting re-purposed skate decks!
We were also entertained by a selection of the College’s Music students. Their outstanding musical abilities provided a perfect backdrop for the evening.
On Thursday, we had more than 200 Year 4 students from local primary schools spend time being toured through the exhibition by some of our upper school Art students. Judging by their feedback, their questions and the looks on their faces, our visitors really enjoyed seeing what artwork they might be able to create when they commence high school.
As diverse audiences have viewed the exhibition this week, we have received many positive comments and emails about the quality of work being produced by our students and how it seems to be getting better and better as each year progresses.
Thank you to all students who exhibited work – you should feel very proud of your creative achievements. And a big thank you to the staff, parents and ex-students who supported them on the evening. Thank you also to the Visual Arts and Technologies teams, and many others, who have put in a lot of hours both during and after school to bring this exhibition to life.
We look forward to sharing our Virtual Art Exhibition with our community next term.
