iServi News | 3 July 2020 | Term 2, Week 10
‘Art is a form of healing and recovery and provides solace and therapy during times of stress. It helps safeguard mental and spiritual health, and reduce barriers between people, cultures and languages.’ Anon.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a challenging time for the arts across the world and many galleries now have online viewings, with artists using even more digital and social media to share their work.
Servite College will launch our own Virtual Art Showcase in the first week of Term 3. It will include works from Semester 1 Visual Art students – Year 7 to 12 inclusive. A good many of these works were either started or partially completed whilst the students were remote learning.
There will be a range of work on display, including Lino prints, Painting, Ceramics, Sculpture, Digital Collage and Drawing, across a broad range of themes, styles and techniques.
We are looking forward to inviting you to our Virtual Art Showcase soon!
