Year 10 Health Education students have been learning about health promotion in the community. Students were required to research a specific topic and then in groups promote their new knowledge to a wider audience with a health promotional stall.
The class had roughly 180 students come through to see the stalls. Some of the topics covered by students were how much sugar is in different cans of soft drink, raising awareness on the dangers of vaping and how individuals can access health organisations as a teenager.
The afternoon was a great success with students taking away valuable knowledge and skills to make sure their health is looked after both physically and mentally.

All Year 10 classes participated in a group assignment where we setup a stall dedicated to a different type of health. Each group promoted a different aspect of health, including mental, physical and emotional health. At the stalls, all the other year groups had the ability to play different games and explore the dimensions of health.
Some games included a memory match of different mental health issues, guessing juice flavours for health and blowing up balloons for relieving stress. By being inclusive and engaging we were able to teach students about the importance of health and provide different coping mechanisms.
