Year 9 students had the privilege of using a range of native ingredients to recreate a known recipe with a ‘native twist’.
They could choose from ingredients such as lemon myrtle, anise myrtle, old man saltbush, outback curry and pepper leaf. For many students, this was their introduction to the taste and history behind some of these amazing ingredients. The Source Bulk Foods in Mount Hawthorn were the major supplier of these ingredients and provided three $10 vouchers to be used as prizes for the classes.
Georgia Bellingham (SA7), Isabella Dart (AN3) and Daniel Di Dio (OLS1) were the prize recipients in recognition of their outstanding design project work. Well done, students!
