On Monday 1 November the first Year 9 class conducted their MasterChef Challenge. Students came in at lunchtime to prepare their dish and be ready to serve to the judges at 1.50pm. The judges were impressed with the food that they tasted and had a hard time deciding the winner and the runner up. Congratulations to Madison Rains (SM4) and Mia Germano (SC6) on winning the challenge and well done to Mya Murphy (OS3) and Stephanie Vu (OLS1) on being our runners-up.
Competition Judge and Head of Learning Area – Health and Physical Education, Mr Lewis, thoroughly enjoyed the ‘Gourmet Lamb Chops’ meal presented by Mya and Stephanie, commenting “I would buy this meal in a café”.
Ms Plant’s Food Science and Technology had their MasterChef Challenge on Tuesday 9 November. There was a fabulous range of both sweet and savoury foods for the judges to sample. The judges debated at length over the winner and runners-up, and for the first time this year the winning dish was a dessert. Congratulations to Arianna Brazzale (SE3) and Jazelle Femia (AN3) on their delicious Brownie creation that scored them first place. We also recognise the outstanding work of our runners-up, Rori Agacy (SA6) and Emilio Caceres-Croce (AN3), for their tasty and spicy curry.
All students put in a superb effort and are to be commended on their creativity, collaboration and communication skills. Well done, Year 9s!
