iServi News | 4 December 2020 | Term 4, Week 8
Our Year 9 Design and Food Technology classes participated in an exciting MasterChef competition where four students in each class competed against each other in a cook off. The dishes were diverse, ranging from Chocolate Surprise, Meatballs and Eggplant Cannelloni, to Lemon Cheesecake, Lemon Pasta, Meat Cannelloni and Chocolate and Raspberry Choux Pastry.
Students were given a mark out of 15 for taste, presentation, and difficulty of the chosen dishes. The expectations were very high, as Mrs McAuliffe, Ms Townsend and Ms Howard were judging. The judges were thoroughly impressed with the outcome and execution of each of the meals presented to them, although there could only be one winner from each Year 9 group. It was difficult for the judges to choose from such delicious foods cooked by such young Chefs, but the students crowned as winners for the 2020 Servite MasterChef were Aria Cozza, who produced six elements in her Chocolate, Raspberry, Choux Pastry and Alisha Nguyen who made Chocolate Surprise.
