Westwide has been taken over by Horizons West and with the takeover will be a few changes for Term 3. This affects both Route 1 (articulated bus) and Route 2 (standard bus).
- Students will in Term 3 tag on and tag off the bus with their SmartRider card
- Currently with the old system, students can buy tickets from the College.
- These tickets will continue to be honoured for the first two weeks of Term 3.
- Any excess tickets can be brought to College Reception for a refund.
- Parents will now be able to pay online for their tickets with a minimum of $10.
There will be an account linked to the students’ SmartRider cards. Money deposited for the Horizons West Bus will not be able to be used for Transperth buses or the College Cafe. Each account is separate.
Any student in the College who intends to use either one of these buses must be registered. To do this, the student must bring his/her SmartRider card to the College Library to have the card scanned and added to our register.
You will also now have the opportunity to download an App and see in real time the location of the Bus and whether your child is on the Bus.
Hopefully it will be a seamless transition. Buses, fares and drivers will all stay the same as well as drop off points.
