Year 9 students participated in a Justice program that explored how God, the Church and the Community call our students to respect the dignity of all people and creation. The program aimed to equip our students with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to become advocates for social and environmental change, to develop achievable sustainability goals at home and share this vision with their peers and families.
On each day, the students explored the following themes:
• Faith and Reason
• Exploring My Values
• Remembrance Day (remembering those who sacrificed for us)
• Sustainability at Home
• Sustainably Stylish
• Sustainability at School (St Kieran’s Project)
• Sustainability in the Kitchen
Ms Monica Maxwell

Students reflected on their favourite part of the program:
Ms Long’s presentation was a highlight for me because I learnt about how to not waste food and what my carbon footprint is.
Isla Dixon (SC4)
The presentation from Mr Doyle about the universe and the earth was a highlight because I learnt a lot about our world and how we should improve it.
Max Del Grossi (SA7)
The Faith and Reason presentation was a highlight for me because it helped me realise that science and religion can coexist.
Dennis Jacob (OLS6)
I liked Mrs William’s session on sustainable style because I felt like I could relate to it and I could become better in this area.
