Collection of Devices
All Year 7 and Year 10 students will be issued with a Microsoft Surface Laptop 13″. Devices are to be collected from the Alexis Research Centre (Library) in the week before school starts: Monday 19 January to Friday 23 January anytime between 9am-5pm.
Device Loan Agreements
Students are required to sign a Device Loan Agreement, which outlines the conditions of use and expected behaviours while using the device. When collecting their device, students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, as a Device Loan Agreement must be signed by both the student and a parent/guardian.
If you are unable to collect your device in January, please email helpdesk@servite.wa.edu.au to make other arrangements.
Device details
The device specifications are detailed below:
• Microsoft Surface Laptop 13”
• Touch-enabled 13″ screens
• Snapdragon C8 processor
• 16Gb RAM
• 256Gb hard-drive capacity
• Accidental damage coverage
The device is included in your annual school fees and at the end of the life of the laptop (three years), the device becomes the property of the student. A new device will be issued when students enter Year 10.
The accidental damage coverage allows us to mitigate the cost of repairs to the device caused through accidental damage. An information sheet outlining loan conditions and repair costs will be provided when you collect child’s device.
Please contact Mr Barry Hicks, Director of Digital Technologies with any queries at barry.hicks@servite.wa.edu.au.
Student Identification Cards
The College will order a student SmartRider for all new students. New students will receive their new card within the first week of school. The reverse of the SmartRider will be your College ID card.
This card can be used for:
- Transperth services
- The private Servite school bus
- Printing in the Alexis Research Centre (ARC)
- Purchases at the Servite Cafe
Students all have $2.00 of printing pre-loaded on their card. To add more funds, please deposit cash with the ICT Team in the ARC, who will load the funds onto your card.
Parents can link the card to the Flexischools app so students can pay for items at the Servite Cafe, and to the Horizons West e-Ticketing platform so they can pay the fare for the private Servite school bus. (Please note that the funds added to the SmartRider for TransPerth or Horizons West are separate to the funds added to the Flexischools system).

Pick Up’s and Drop Off’s at Servite
Traffic congestion around the campus during drop-off and pick-up times is a shared community challenge. We would like to thank our community for your ongoing cooperation and support as Servite College begins the next stage of its Master Plan, including Stage Two which includes the Montorsoli and Gymnasium Building works.
With these exciting developments, we anticipate an increase in traffic congestion during drop-off and pick-up times. We ask families to please plan ahead and, where possible, pre-organise alternative pick-up arrangements, such as carpooling, public transport, or staggered collection times. These small adjustments can make a significant difference for everyone.
The safety of our students, families, and staff remains our highest priority. We kindly remind all road users to remain patient, follow traffic directions, and observe speed limits around the College at all times.
Important access changes
From the commencement of Term 1, entry into the College via Gate 8 (corner of Morgans Street and Myer Street) and exit through Gate 5 (Cape Street) will be permanently closed as part of the Master Plan works.
Please see college map here.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work together to ensure a safe and smooth transition during this important period of growth for Servite College. These improvements will enhance our facilities and learning environment for years to come.
