Wellbeing, Belonging & Growth

At Servite, we believe best practice pastoral care supports each student’s wellbeing for life

Our students thrive in an environment where they feel a sense of belonging to a school community that actively cultivates respectful and supportive relationships among students, teachers, parents and the wider community. Our programs, values and expectations support the emotional, social and physical safety of our students. Within this supportive environment, our community members are encouraged to grow their individual gifts to become whole persons with the capacity to make a difference.

At Servite we facilitate the Pastoral Care of all members of our school community through promoting wellness in a positive learning environment. We engender a sense of belonging and connectedness to our school community where each individual is valued, and we foster the building of relationships based on respect and kindness. Our policies, practices and resources around behavioural support and change focus on the whole student, including personal, spiritual, social, emotional and academic dimensions.

At Servite, we are a thriving community where the core relationship between wellness and learning is valued.

Recognised for our high-quality wellbeing programs, we help students build the foundations for future physical, mental and social health. Integrating wellbeing science and ground-breaking positive education research within our school, we assist each student to realise their full potential. Through an understanding of modern social and emotional learning, our students are provided with opportunities to grow into responsible, independent and resilient young people.

At Servite, we are a welcoming community where hospitality, inclusion and diversity are valued.

A strong sense of belonging to our College helps develop students who are happier and more successful learners. Motivation, effort and positive attitudes increase through feelings of connectedness. Being connected is also about students and families knowing they can seek support when they need it, that they will be listened to, and that, as a community, we can work together to help.

Featured Resource: Individualised care for each student

Every day at Servite starts with a focus on belonging. Each student has a key teacher who is responsible for their sense of community connection. Through daily student contact, feedback from class teachers and communication with families, Homeroom Teachers coordinate a wider network of staff to support individual student well-being.

We build life-affirming relationships that recognise and support the inherent dignity of each person.

At Servite, we are a gracious community where respect for all members is valued.

Healthy relationships enhance wellness and learning performance. Our culture and curriculum support students in building successful relationships at school and with their families, friends, parishes and the wider community. Our approach to student management instils attitudes and behaviours that enable fulfilling learning, family, work and life journeys.
