Languages Week
The rest of the week saw the College enjoying a variety of Italian-themed activities such as singing, sports and food. Students had fun playing bocci and some even got to show off their soccer skills with the soccer juggling competition taken out by Gianluca Paiano with an amazing tally of 1072 kicks!
Everyone got to enjoy sweets provided by That Little Gelato Cart and joined in dancing along to tarantellas, Italian twists and even a mambo. We even welcomed guests from the Alfa Romeo Owners Club who showed off their gorgeous cars. Their magnificent vehicles demonstrated the pride and love that goes into maintaining such beautiful machines.
On the last day, Mr Accordian Man was invited to join us in a whole school Tarantella where we unofficially tried to break the world record for most people dancing!
The joy continued as Mr Accordion Man entertained 150 of our Year 7s in the ARC, sharing aspects of the history and culture of “la fisarmonica” and Italian music, especially the tarantella. Students sang, danced and learned about Italian traditions and heritage.
Grazie mille to everyone that helped us create such a joyous atmosphere, especially Mr Joseph Millimaci and Ms Teresa Thomas and Ms Nadia Tati for coordinating the events and visitors
